The Interim Chairperson of the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC), Major General Charles Tai Gituai has on Monday (September 7th) accompanied the Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, H.E. Angelina Teny, and the Governor of Western Bahr el Ghazal, H.E. Sarah Cleto Rial, on a visit to Mapel training centre in the state of Western Bahr el Ghazal.

I would like to start by offering my thanks to the President of the Republic of South Sudan, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, and the Government of South Sudan for the very warm welcome and reception I have so far received in this country. I also wish to take this very early opportunity to thank H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya for bestowing special trust and confidence in me by nominating me for this appointment. My gratitude and thanks also must go to the IGAD Heads of State and Government for endorsing me as the Interim Chair of RJMEC. 

At a ceremony held in Juba on 16 August 2020, an exchange of Instruments of Office took place between Amb. Lt. Gen. Augostino S.K. Njoroge, Outgoing Interim Chairperson of RJMEC, and Maj. Gen. Charles Tai Gituai, Incoming Interim Chairperson of RJMEC. This follows the recent appointment of Maj. Gen. Tai Gituai to RJMEC by the IGAD Heads of State and Government.

The Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) has released its 2nd Quarterly report of 2020 on the status of implementation of the Revotilized Agreement of the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan.

The Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) has expressed regret the delay the restructuring, reconstitution of the TNLA and the Council of the Republic of South Sudan.

The Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) released its latest report on status of implementation of the activities of the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS).

 

Never before has South Sudan had such a golden opportunity to write her own history in the way it does now. Significant compromises were made on the issue of the number of states, which paved the way for the country to enter the Transitional Period of the Revitalised Peace Agreement of South Sudan. I offer my congratulations to H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, for his leadership.

The Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission on Saturday, 8thFebruary 2020 addressed 70thExrtra-Ordinary Session of the IGAD Council of Ministers met in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 

The Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) has expressed concerns over delayed screening and training of unified forces in South Sudan.
 

Minister The National Constitutional Amendment Committee (NCAC) today submitted the revised Transitional Constitution of the Republic of South Sudan, 2011 (Amendment) (NO.6) Bill, 2020 to the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs pursuant to Article 1.18.6of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS).
