The security situation in South Sudan remains fragile with major violations of the ceasefire continue to be recorded, said the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation (JMEC) Chairperson H.E. Festus Mogae.

The Chairperson of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) H.E. Festus Mogae has welcomed the approval of the Transitional Constitution of South Sudan Amendment Bill (2017) by the the Council of Ministers, terming it as “significant process.”

Despite the dire humanitarian situation in many parts of South Sudan, delivery of aid to the hunger-stricken population continues to be impeded, the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) Chairperson H.E. Festus Mogae has said.
