RJMEC Interim Chair leads team to Gorom training centre

The Interim Chairperson of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation H.E. Ambassador Lt. Gen. Augostino Njoroge has on Monday visited Gorom training site in the outskirt of the capital, Juba. 

The 3,339 forces drawn from government and the opposition, will be trained at this centre to become special forces for the protection of VIPs.

The Interim Chairperson and his delegation were briefed by officials and instructors who exuded confidence with the progress with how the process of training and unification is going on. 

Speaking to the troops, the Interim Chairperson asked the young men and women to put the country and serve with dedication.  

“You goal should be to serve the country not as soldiers from different factions but as a unified and patriotic force, willing and ready to protect the lives of the people of South Sudan” said Amb. Njoroge. 

“Leave politics to politicians and remain apolitical,” he added. 

The Chairperson was accompanied by members of the Secretariat and  members of RJMEC.
